Overview

The Director of Nursing / Branch Director role will oversee the operations of our hospice agency in Kennesaw, GA, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and compliance with Medicare regulations. In this role, you will provide leadership, guidance, and support to our clinical and non-clinical staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. This role requires a visionary leader with strong clinical expertise, exceptional organizational skills, and a passion for hospice care.

Responsibilities

The Hospice Branch Director is a Registered Nurse who manages all aspects of terminal care and has expertise in pain and symptom management, with previous experience in hospice nursing. Additionally, the Hospice Branch Director supervises staff, manages documentation requirements, oversees service coordination and case management. The Hospice Branch Director must have excellent communication skills and the ability to respond supportively and sensitively to the needs of employees, patients, and their families.

The Hospice Branch Director supervises daily office and clinical operations, plans, coordinates, and delivers interdisciplinary team interventions. They are responsible for assigning appropriate staff to patients and families and acting as a staff nurse when necessary. The Director also participates in community awareness and education programs.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an approved school of professional nursing and currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment.
• Must have at least two years of nursing experience within the past 36 months and one year of hospice experience.
• Thorough understanding of federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing hospice operations.
• Competent with computers.
