Job summary

Pleasant Lake Villa in Parma is seeking a Director of Nursing to lead our nursing department and elevate resident care. The DON will provide clinical oversight, regulatory compliance, and staff development in a resident-centered long-term care community.

The ideal candidate has RN licensure in Ohio and 2–5 years of nursing leadership in long-term care, with experience in Medicare/Medicaid and MDS processes. Strong leadership and EMR familiarity (PointClickCare) are essential.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Ohio.
• 2-5 years nursing leadership in long-term care (ADON or DON experience preferred).
• Thorough understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, MDS processes, and long-term care regulations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with EMR systems (PointClickCare preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and direction for the nursing department.
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and CMS regulations.
• Oversee nurse staffing, scheduling, recruitment, and retention.
• Support clinical team in achieving resident outcomes and quality measures.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Conduct regular audits, rounds, and clinical reviews.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on care planning and resident assessments.
• Manage infection control, QA/QAPI, and risk management initiatives.
• Participate in facility surveys and follow-up processes.
• Provide coaching, performance evaluations, and staff development.
• Maintain strong relationships with residents, families, and staff.
