Job summary

The State of Iowa - Executive Branch is seeking a Nurse Manager to oversee Health Services for an incarcerated population. You will supervise staff, manage scheduling, and coordinate care across departments to ensure high-quality services.

Responsibilities include policy oversight, committee representation, and ongoing quality improvement, with focus on accessibility, regulatory compliance, and cost-effective care delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and 3 years of supervisory/management nursing experience.
• Master's Degree in Nursing and 1 year of supervisory/management nursing experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience with substitutions.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and evaluates staff to ensure 24-hour coverage.
• Administers personnel actions including hiring, disciplinary measures, and evaluations.
• Manages timekeeping, payroll, and leave records with accuracy.
• Oversees delivery of health services to incarcerated individuals.
• Leads staffing guidelines and nursing schedules across all shifts and holidays.
