We are currently seeking a Director of Nursing (DON).

Job Description:

A Director of Nursing is a registered nurse who assumes a managerial position, taking responsibility for nursing care within a healthcare setting. They manage staff, handle budgeting, participate in recruitment, and carry out disciplinary actions when required. The DON ensures the facility or department complies with relevant policies and standards, oversees budgeting and ordering for the department, and supervises nursing programs. The role may require being on call during emergencies.

Responsibilities:

• Direct, oversee, and evaluate all nursing personnel (registered nurses, LPNs, etc.)
• Guide staffing procedures
• Set objectives and long-term goals for the nursing department
• Develop and enforce policies to ensure legal compliance and high-quality standards
• Control budgets and monitor expenditures

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment
• Minimum of two (2) years recent supervisory experience in a nursing care facility
• Work directly with the Administrator and Medical Director to ensure the highest quality of care for residents
• Organize, develop, and direct the overall operations of the Nursing Service Department according to federal, state, and local standards and regulations
• Aptitude for problem-solving
