The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for leading, directing, analyzing, staffing, and evaluating the nursing services of the department, as well as supervising members of the nursing team and others. You may assume charge responsibilities in the absence of the Administrator/Housing Director.

Responsibilities

1. The DON provides administrative and clinical leadership for nursing staff to promote the delivery of high-quality care.
2. The DON develops, revises, monitors, and implements the department budget to promote appropriate resources.
3. The DON develops, implements, and evaluates the nursing department while ensuring regulatory compliance.
4. The DON serves as a nursing liaison with internal/external groups, residents/families, the general public, and other healthcare providers.

Qualifications

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse, which must be in good standing.
• Two (2) years of RN experience with at least one (1) year in long-term care, home care, or a related area.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to make independent decisions and prioritize duties.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
