Director of Nursing Services

Position: Full-Time, Salaried

Schedule: Primarily weekday hours; participates in the administrative nurse on-call rotation

About the Role

Eagle Crest Communities is seeking a dedicated and experienced Director of Nursing Services (DON) to lead our nursing team at Riverside Transitional Care, a 123-bed Skilled Nursing Facility in La Crosse, WI. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RN) with strong leadership, clinical expertise, and a passion for providing exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead and mentor a team of healthcare professionals in transitional, long-term, and dementia care.
2. Oversee the nursing services department, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and adherence to best practices.
3. Foster a collaborative environment by working closely with interdisciplinary teams and facility staff.
4. Implement innovative nursing services and care models to enhance resident outcomes.
5. Develop and enforce policies and procedures to align with best practices.
6. Set strategic goals and provide direction for nursing staff performance and development.

Qualifications

1. Current RN license in WI or a compact state
2. BSN or MSN preferred (but not required)
3. Current CPR certification
4. 2-3 years of leadership experience in healthcare or a related field
5. Strong knowledge and experience in long-term care nursing, rehabilitative care, and restorative clinical practices
6. Exceptional leadership, organization, and multitasking skills
7. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems
8. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
9. Experience managing a large budget preferred
