Job summary

Bethany Center for Rehabilitation and Healing is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead the nursing team, ensure high-quality resident care, and uphold regulatory standards. The DON will drive staff development, ensure survey readiness, and foster a culture of safety within a supportive leadership environment.

You will oversee nursing operations, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, manage staffing and labor costs, and implement policies to improve clinical outcomes across the facility.

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state-specific).
• 3–5 years nursing leadership in skilled nursing or long-term care.
• Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, survey process and clinical compliance.
• Proven leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Ability to lead teams, manage change, and drive performance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all nursing operations and ensure delivery of high-quality resident care.
• Maintain compliance with CMS, federal, state, and local regulations.
• Lead, mentor, and support nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs).
• Develop and implement policies, procedures, and clinical protocols.
• Monitor quality measures, infection control, and performance improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve resident outcomes.
• Manage staffing, scheduling, and labor costs effectively.
• Oversee survey readiness and regulatory inspections.
• Investigate incidents and ensure timely resolution.
• Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
