Job summary

Steel Health & Rehab Center in Defiance, OH seeks a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead the Nursing Service Department in a SNF setting, ensuring high quality of care and compliance with regulations. You will work with the Administrator and Medical Director to uphold standards and resident wellbeing.

The role requires an active Ohio RN license, CPR/BLS, and at least two years of supervisory experience in long-term care, plus solid computer and EHR proficiency.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current, unencumbered RN license in the state where you work.
• Must possess a current CPR or BLS certification.
• Minimum two years of supervisory experience in a nursing setting, preferably long-term care.
• Must have basic computer skills and ability to navigate electronic health record software.

Responsibilities

• Organize, develop, manage, and direct the Nursing Service Department.
• Collaborate with the Administrator and Medical Director to ensure high quality of care.
• Maintain compliance with health, sanitary, and infection control policies and procedures.

Position Summary:

As the Director of Nursing in a SNF setting it is your responsibility to organize, develop, manage, and direct the overall operations of the Nursing Service Department in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations that govern the community. The Director of Nursing is to work directly with the Administrator and the Medical Director to ensure the highest degree of quality of care is maintained for each resident at all times. Follows all health, sanitary and infection control policies and maintains established standards of practice set forth by the community's administration and Nursing Policies and Procedures.

Education/Qualification:

• Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a RN within the state in which you work.
• Must possess a current CPR or BLS certification.
• Must have a minimum two (2) years of experience in a supervisory role in a nursing community or other related healthcare community, preferably in long term care.
• Must possess basic computer skills and ability to navigate through various software programs, including electronic health record software.
