Experience & Requirements

• Associate degree or RN Diploma required. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing highly preferred.
• Three (3) to Five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in healthcare / nursing administration.
• Three (3) to Five (5) years of professional nursing experience.
• Active RN license in the state where the position is located with unrestricted/non-probationary status. Specialty certification (e.g., CCHP, ACHE) is desired.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• Experience using Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Requires critical thinking, organizational, decisive judgment, communication, and good customer service skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks, work under stress, and take appropriate actions.
• Must follow YesCare and departmental policies and procedures.
• Subject to security clearance requirements.

A background check, security clearance, and drug screening are required.

Responsibilities

As a Director of Nursing (DON) at YesCare, Easterling Correctional Facility, located in Clio, Alabama, with a salary of $98,970.00:

• Supervise nursing staff, unlicensed assistive personnel, and ancillary healthcare staff.
• Oversee departmental budgets, supplies, and medication management.
• Report to higher management.
• Maintain high standards of patient care.
• Manage patient data and medical records confidentially.
• Communicate with doctors, patients, and families about healthcare needs.
• Recruit, train, and onboard new staff, participating in candidate screening.
• Provide ongoing education and coordinate training programs.
• Implement and monitor new procedures and policies.
• Ensure staffing levels meet patient care needs and comply with regulations.
• Support nursing staff in patient care provision.
• Develop staff schedules ensuring appropriate skill coverage.
• Ensure practice conforms to licensure, accreditation, and regulatory standards.
• Act as liaison with other units and external agencies.
• Maintain accurate nursing records.
• Participate in quality improvement activities.
• Promote a professional environment with effective conflict resolution.
• Follow safety protocols and use PPE as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
