Job summary

Avalon Care Center Bellingham in Bellingham, WA, is seeking a Director of Nursing (DON) to lead the nursing team and shape resident outcomes. This full-time role offers a strong leadership path and a focus on clinical excellence within a CMS 5-Star facility.

You will supervise nursing operations, mentor leaders, drive quality, assure survey readiness, and collaborate with the Administrator to meet clinical and operational goals.

Qualifications

• Current Washington RN license (or NLC-eligible).
• Nursing leadership experience in skilled nursing or long-term care.
• Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead all nursing operations within the facility.
• Develop, mentor, and support nursing leaders and staff.
• Drive quality outcomes and resident satisfaction.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and survey readiness.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and departmental performance.
• Partner with the Administrator to achieve clinical and operational goals.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and excellence.
