Position Overview:

The Director of Nursing Services (DNS) plans, coordinates, and provides total nursing care for residents, and supervises clinical care team members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assume responsibility of the community in the absence of the Executive Director.
• Implement policies/procedures, supervise care team members, and ensure compliance with standards.
• Assist in preparing and administering the department budget.
• Manage nursing care team members.
• Coordinate nursing activities, promote harmonious relationships, and ensure quality resident care.
• Develop systems and work schedules respecting residents’ lifestyles.
• Ensure a Continuous Quality Improvement Program is in place.
• Orient and educate new care team members.
• Set goals and motivate the care team to achieve them.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Active RN license in the state.
• CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
• Minimum three years of nursing experience, including one year in long-term care.
• At least two years of supervisory experience.
