Colonial Village is seeking a dedicated Director of Nursing to lead the nursing function within our Continuing Care Retirement Community in Overland Park. The DON will plan, coordinate, and manage nursing services to ensure high-quality resident care and regulatory compliance.

The role includes supervising staff, managing budgeting and leadership, and participating in hiring, onboarding, and training. The DON will coordinate on-call rotation and collaborate with physicians and families to

• Must hold an active RN license in the state of practice with CEU requirements.
• At least 3–5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in geriatrics.
• Current CPR certification is required.

Role:

We are seeking a dedicated Director of Nursing to join our team! The Director of Nursing is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the nursing function in the Continuing Care Retirement Community.

Responsibilities:

• - Supervising all nursing staff and ensuring staff provides quality resident care that meets or exceeds regulatory standards.
• - Oversees nursing department budget.
• - Oversees and manages nurse leadership positions in the community.
• - May assist with duties of other nurse leadership positions as needed.
• - Assists with hiring and onboarding, training, development and retention of nursing staff.
• - May be designated to assume responsibilities of daily operations of the facility in the Executive Director's absence.
• - Communicates with physicians, residents, and family members regarding resident health and plan of care.
• - Ensures nursing staff are trained on new policies and procedures.
• - Participates in daily, weekly, and monthly meetings.
• - Completes reports and audits in a timely manner.
• - Ensures nursing documentation and assessments are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with community policies.
• - Reviews restorative nursing procedures for each resident so as to achieve the highest possible degree of function, self-care, and independence based on resident choice, where practical, in collaboration with the MDS Coordinator.
• - Oversees and participates in nursing on-call rotation.
• - Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members and guests.

Qualifications

Qualifications :

• - The Director of Nursing Services (DON) must be a Registered Nurse from an accredited college, be currently licensed in the state* applying to without encumbrance, and be responsible for maintaining professional licensure and CEU requirements.
• - Must have at least 3-5 of supervisory experience, preferably in a geriatric setting.
• - Current CPR certification required.
