Colonial Village Overland Park is seeking a dedicated Director of Nursing to lead the nursing function in our Continuing Care Retirement Community. You will plan, coordinate, and manage nursing operations to ensure high-quality resident care.

The role focuses on supervising nursing staff, maintaining regulatory standards, overseeing budgets, and supporting nurse leadership while fostering a caring, family-style culture for residents and their families.

Responsabilités

• Supervising all nursing staff and ensuring staff provides quality resident care that meets or exceeds regulatory standards.
• Oversees nursing department budget.
• Oversees and manages nurse leadership positions in the community.
• May assist with duties of other nurse leadership positions as needed.
• Assists with hiring and onboarding, training, development and retention of nursing staff.
• May assume responsibilities of daily operations of the facility in the Executive Director's absence.
• Communicates with physicians, residents, and family members regarding resident health and plan of care.
• Ensures nursing staff are trained on new policies and procedures.
• Participates in daily, weekly, and monthly meetings.
• Completes reports and audits in a timely manner.
• Ensures nursing documentation and assessments are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with community policies.
• Reviews restorative nursing procedures for each resident to maximize function and independence in collaboration with the MDS Coordinator.
• Oversees and participates in nursing on-call rotation.
• Promotes positive public relations with residents, family members and guests.

Schedule

This position is part of a strong nurse management team, utilizing a very high ratio of nurse managers to residents to oversee a small skilled nursing unit within a continuing care retirement community. The role is primarily weekdays, with a predictable on-call rotation, and flexibility to balance hours during the week.
