Job summary

Starling seeks an experienced Nursing Leader to provide overall leadership and management of the health and wellbeing of residents in the community. The role collaborates with the Executive Director and care teams to ensure high-quality clinical services and proactive health management.

You will oversee licensed nursing staff, ensure service plan updates meet state regulations, and support educational and community relations efforts.

Qualifications

• Must maintain current state nursing license as required.
• Experience in assisted living, home health or long-term care environments.
• Two years of licensed nursing experience.
• One year nursing management experience.
• Competence in assessment, injections/medication administration, follow up and triage.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and management of resident health and wellbeing.
• Collect, analyze, and report health occurrence trends; implement improvement plans.
• Collaborate with Executive Director and team to maintain health safety.
• Provide optimal pharmaceutical services with pharmacy consultant guidance.
• Oversee service plan updates and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintain communications with residents and families regarding care changes.
• Coordinate with other departments on care and medication level changes.
• Participate in rotating on-call schedule and be available on the floor as needed.

Position Summary

Responsible for providing overall leadership and management of the health and wellbeing of the residents within the community.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

The following duties are normal for this position. This list is not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

• Responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting occurrence trends, and if necessary, develop/implement improvement plans.
• Partners with Executive Director and other team members to analyze and maintain all resident and team member health safety.
• Partners with pharmacy consultant to provide optimal pharmaceutical services to residents.
• Responsible for clinical expertise of licensed nurses.
• Assists with educational presentations as assigned by administrator.
• Identifies ongoing needs and services of residents through the evaluation/ Service Plan process including documentation for residents with a change in health care status.
• Responsible for overseeing the completion of the monthly updates and reporting any pertinent changes to the responsible party.
• Partners with other department coordinators to identify, review, and discuss potential change in service/medication levels if applicable.
• Ensures the resident's service plan is updated as indicated by state regulations.
• Participates in community awareness activities and community relations.
• Maintains communications with resident's family and/or responsible party regarding changes in care or health concerns.
• Informs the Business Office of fee changes related to care needs, if applicable.
• Ensures adequate clinical supplies are available.
• Participates in a rotating on-call schedule and will be on call for staff accordingly.
• Must be willing to work on the floor when needed.
• Other duties as assigned to complete the job as needed from the community, company, and State.

Qualifications

• Maintains current state license as a Licensed Professional Nurse or a Professional Registered Nurse per state regulations.
• Experience in assisted living, home health or long term care industries.
• Two (2) years experience as a Licensed Nurse.
• One (1) year nursing management experience.
• Must demonstrate competence in assessment skills, injections/medication administration, follow up and triage.
• Computer Skills: Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office and ability to learn new applications.
• Must demonstrate an interest in working with a senior population.
