Job summary

Primrose Retirement Communities in Wisconsin is seeking a Director of Nursing to lead direct care staff in delivering nursing services and ensuring the highest possible physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being for residents. The role requires a current state nursing license, CPR certification, and strong leadership with experience in long-term care or assisted living.

• Must hold a current, active nursing license in the state the community is located in.
• Maintain CPR and First Aid Certification per state regulations.
• Knowledge of current state laws and regulations in nursing for assisted living settings.
• Meet annual continuing education hours for nursing license, if applicable.
• Experience in long-term care or assisted living environment preferred.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize responsibilities.
• Demonstrates leadership in team building and conflict management/resolution.
• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s Disease and related memory impairments is preferred.
• Comfort with basic computer software; MS Outlook and Word.
• Willingness to work day hours; flexible scheduling as needed.

Primrose Retirement Communities is hiring for a Director of Nursing to beresponsible for leading the direct care staff in the delivery of nursing services, to enable each resident to attain or maintain the highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being. The Director of Nursing establishes the overall quality, adequacy of services provided, and the supervision of the nursing staff, adhering to the Primrose Mission of providing a quality “person-centered” care approach to our growing senior population.

More about the position responsibilities:

• Ensures compassionate quality care to all residents.
• Participate in the recruitment and hiring of nursing personnel in a cost-effective manner.
• Ensures timely completion of resident assessments and service plans at pre-admission, admission, 30 days, semi-annually, and with change of condition or at intervals specified by State regulations.
• Evaluates whether the community can meet each resident’s clinical needs, which includes a potential new admission to the facility, a current resident, or the transfer of a resident from the community.
• Develops and implements an organized nursing system for the delivery of care and services by coordinating nursing services with other services and departments, i.e., maintenance, pharmacy, dietary, housekeeping, laundry, activities, etc.
• Markets the community through tours and participation in special events, health fairs, and speaking engagements with local civic groups.
• Demonstrates the ability to implement and maintain compliance with State and other applicable regulations governing the community, resident care, and any applicable reimbursement.
• Communicates and interprets policies and procedures to nursing staff, and monitors staff practices and implementation.
• Evaluates the work performance of all nursing personnel and is responsible for addressing and documenting any necessary disciplinary actions of nursing personnel in accordance with company policy.

What we're looking for:

• Must hold a current, active, and non-restricted nursing license in the state the community is located in.
• Maintain CPR and First Aid Certification per state regulations.
• Knowledge of current state laws and regulations that apply to the practice of nursing in an assisted living setting.
• Meet annual continuing education hours required for nursing license, if applicable.
• Experience in long-term care or assisted living environment is preferred.
• Has strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to prioritize responsibilities.
• Demonstrates leadership skills in principles of team building, motivating others, and conflict management/resolution.
• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s Disease, other dementias and related memory impairments is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of computer software and programs, minimum working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Word.
• Able to work primarily day hours, willingness to work varying hours as needed.
• Able to share with other nurses, “call” time regarding resident care needs.
