Your Role as Director of Nursing

As DON, you will provide leadership and direction for the nursing department while ensuring residents receive high-quality, compassionate care.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, support, and develop the facility's nursing team
• Oversee day-to-day clinical operations and nursing services
• Promote strong clinical practices and positive resident outcomes
• Maintain appropriate nursing staffing and department organization
• Recruit, train, mentor, and retain nursing staff
• Monitor clinical documentation and standards of care
• Work closely with the Administrator and interdisciplinary leadership team
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and facility requirements
• Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
• Address clinical concerns involving residents, families, and staff
• Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, and resident-centered care

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
• Previous nursing leadership experience required
• Long-term care or skilled nursing experience strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of clinical operations and regulatory requirements
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to coach, develop, and hold nursing teams accountable
• Commitment to providing exceptional resident-centered care
