Job summary

Altamaha Health Center in Jesup, GA is seeking an experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our skilled nursing facility’s clinical services. You will provide clinical leadership, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate staffing to deliver high-quality resident care.

The DON will supervise nursing staff, collaborate with the Medical Director and interdisciplinary teams, oversee documentation and budgets, and promote a culture of quality, safety, dignity, and resident well-being.

Qualifications

• Current Georgia RN license in good standing.
• 3–5 years of Director of Nursing experience.
• Strong clinical leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Must meet all applicable state and local health requirements, including background and reference checks.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all clinical and nursing services.
• Ensure resident care meets or exceeds company, state, and federal standards.
• Conduct regular rounds and monitor quality of care and resident outcomes.
• Oversee clinical documentation, medications, treatments, and records.
• Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and retain qualified nursing staff.
• Develop staffing plans and schedules based on resident needs and budget.
• Evaluate current and prospective residents to ensure appropriate levels of care.
• Collaborate with the Medical Director and interdisciplinary teams.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and support state/federal surveys.
• Monitor nursing performance and departmental budgets.
• Ensure timely completion of required documentation and reports.
• Promote a culture centered on quality, safety, dignity, and resident well-being.
