Job summary

Stevenson University in Towson, MD is seeking a Director, Network & Infrastructure to lead the university's network, servers and telecommunications. The role oversees over 160 servers (physical and virtual), a campus-wide wired/wireless network serving 15,000+ endpoints across four campuses, 100+ TB SAN storage, and a VOIP system with 1,400+ lines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field and 10+ years hands-on network infrastructure experience.
• 3+ years in people and project management; ability to lead a team and manage projects.
• Industry certifications in a relevant field are a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record; insurable.

Responsibilities

• Manage Network and infrastructure staff.
• Oversee operation of three full-function data centers.
• Hire and evaluate staff within the network and infrastructure team.
• Develop strategies to enable prompt resolutions to IT data security and privacy issues.
• Install, configure, support and troubleshoot routers, firewalls and switches and all infrastructure components.
• Monitor the health of the network infrastructure and resolve issues.
• Research and propose new technologies, services, and/or products for cost effectiveness.
• Revise and develop OIT policies and procedures for network technologies and security.
• Ensure timely resolution of service incidents and completion of client service requests.
• Manage operational area projects with schedules, resources, and status reporting.
• Lead staff in adopting new equipment, software, and services.
