Job summary

The Phillips Collection in Washington, DC is seeking a Director of Advancement Events to lead the museum’s more than 100 annual events, with a focus on fundraising, donor stewardship, and brand-elevating experiences.

Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, you will oversee the Events Manager, coordinate cross-departmental teams, manage budgets and timelines, and travel nationally/internationally as needed to advance strategic goals.

Qualifications

• Not-for-profit or hospitality events experience preferred.
• Strong budget management and governance skills.
• ABRA license and DC liquor law compliance required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and execution of 100+ annual events to support fundraising and donor relations.
• Oversee the Gala and major events, develop timelines, and manage vendor/vendor relations.
• Collaborate with Advancement, Communications, and Programs for strategic event design.
