Job summary

BigHat Biosciences seeks a director-level ML leader in San Mateo to own the technical direction of our machine learning platform and drive hands-on execution. You will mentor a small team of ML scientists and engineers while shaping strategy for antibody design models and agent services that automate lab and data workflows.

You will publish and present to the ML and protein engineering communities, partner with frontier AI labs, and translate data generation into product offerings for biotech

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Computational Biology or related field with 8+ years of experience.
• Experience leading technical teams or major programs is strongly preferred.
• Proven ability to translate research into production-ready ML solutions.

Responsibilities

• Own and continuously sharpen ML roadmap and platform direction.
• Develop state-of-the-art antibody models and agent services for lab automation.
• Lead production-ready ML systems with reproducibility and provenance.
• Mentor ML scientists and engineers; foster collaboration across teams.
• Publish and present in ML and protein engineering communities.
