Job summary

BigHat Biosciences in San Mateo, CA, invites a Machine Learning Scientist/Engineer to advance state-of-the-art ML-driven antibody design. You will develop generative models and multi-objective optimization within a fast-paced, interdisciplinary team.

You'll apply top-tier ML methods to accelerate drug design, collaborating with wet labs and drug developers, and deploying models across automated workflows in our high-throughput platform.

Qualifications

• PhD in ML/CS/EE or relevant scientific discipline with hands-on ML method development.
• Strong Python skills and PyTorch familiarity; experience with software engineering best practices (CI/CD, testing).
• Excellent communication and ability to interact with interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement state-of-the-art generative models of antibody sequence and structure.
• Develop multi-modality, multi-objective protein sequence optimization methods for lab-in-the-loop design.
• Develop and deploy agentic and LLM-driven optimization to accelerate design-build-test loops.
• Provide ML expertise to ongoing therapeutics programs and contribute to new drug development.
