Job summary

BigHat Biosciences seeks a Director of Machine Learning to own the technical direction and hands-on execution of our ML capabilities. You will lead a senior team, guide model development for antibody design, and drive ML operations with LLM integration across the platform.

The role reports to the CIO and focuses on advancing frontier ML within a production-scale wet-lab environment, delivering impact through scalable, measurable models and robust benchmarks.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. with 8+ years in ML and leadership of technical teams or major programs.
• Proven track record shipping ML into production systems with reproducibility and provenance.
• Experience applying ML to biology or related domains is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Own and sharpen BigHat's ML roadmap and strategy.
• Develop multi-objective predictive models for antibody design.
• Build agent services and integrate LLMs with our computational platform.
• Lead and mentor a senior team of ML scientists and engineers.
• Collaborate with business and external partners to translate data capabilities into offerings.
