Job summary

South Dakota State University seeks an Instructor/Lecturer to join the College of Nursing as the Nurse Midwife Faculty and Director of the new midwifery program. This 12-month, full-time position will be located in Brookings, Sioux Falls, or Rapid City and will require leadership in accreditation and program development.

Qualifications

• Master's degree by date of application.
• Licensed by the South Dakota Board of Nursing or eligible for licensure as an APRN.
• Nationally certified as a Nurse Midwife by the American Midwifery Certification Board or equivalent.
• Minimum of two years practicing as a midwife.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead accreditation activities, such as ACME self-studies, annual reports and site visit prep.
• Monitor compliance with accreditation standards.
• Track program outcomes (graduation, certification, employment).
• Facilitate faculty meetings and committee work.
• Oversee clinical experiences and secure clinical placements.
