Job summary

m2e Consulting Engineers seeks an accomplished Engineering Director to provide executive leadership for the MEP department in Florida. You will guide complex projects, oversee cross-functional teams, and ensure technical integrity and profitability across CR&D, QAS, and FINES.

You will drive talent development, implement QA/QC programs, and maintain regulatory compliance while reporting on utilization, backlog, and revenue forecasting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university (Master’s degree preferred).
• Active Florida P.E. license or ability to reciprocate within six months.
• Valid contractor license (building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing) preferred.
• Valid Florida driver’s license and reliable transportation required.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and grow the MEP department (8–12 staff) with hiring, mentoring, performance management.
• Develop engineers toward licensure and increased technical responsibility.
• Establish performance expectations and accountability standards aligned with company goals.
• Oversee staffing, capacity planning, and utilization to ensure profitability and balance.
• Act as firmwide technical authority for MEP engineering matters across CR&D, QAS, FINES.
• Seal drawings and reports per Florida licensure requirements and manage risk reviews.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, contractors, owners, and regulators across projects.
