Who We Are

NGO-ISAC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that strengthens the security of U.S.-based nonprofits. We are the leading cybersecurity community for non-governmental organizations, serving 400+ members including think tanks, human rights organizations, foundations, environmental groups, and healthcare nonprofits and partnering with private sector organizations both large and small. We’re the cybersecurity backbone keeping civil society functioning in an increasingly digital world.

Our mission: Boost cybersecurity maturity in NGOs through strategic intelligence, best practices, and immersive education, fostering a resilient and collaborative security culture.

Who You Are

NGO-ISAC is hiring a leader to run the growth, retention, and long-term health of a mission-driven membership program. This person owns membership strategy end to end. They define member value, run acquisition and retention, find new segments, and build a three-to-five-year roadmap for sustainable growth. This person will design and lead the evolution of NGO-ISAC's membership model toward sustainable revenue, built around member capacity and long-term retention. The stakes are direct: a sustainable membership model is what keeps NGO-ISAC's protection of civil society funded, and this role builds it.

This is a senior role with real ownership and the authority to act on it, accountable to NGO-ISAC's budget, strategy, and shared leadership. It suits a confident expert who collaborates well, respects what others know, and stays open to feedback.

This role is fully remote within the United States. We prefer candidates on the East Coast for time-zone overlap and the occasional in-person event.

Where the Role Starts and Stops

This role owns the member transaction: who joins, who renews, what they pay, and what the record says.Programming owns what NGO-ISAC produces: curriculum, intelligence products, technical content, and itsaccuracy. Community & Partnerships owns the member relationship: engagement, convening, and peer community. It also owns partnerships, from peer organizations through commercial and technology partners. All three functions servethe same organizations through different work.

  • Set objective measures for acquisition, retention, and renewal
  • Get the most from the association management system for reporting and trend analysis
Membership model and revenue
  • Design the future membership model, including pricing research, tiers matched to member capacity, and a subsidized level so the smallest organizations are not priced out
  • Draft the membership policy for board approval, covering member categories, eligibility, contribution structure, and hardship terms
  • Build the revenue operations, including invoicing, payment processing, and renewal automation in the association management system, reconciled with finance
  • Lead member communication through changes to the membership model, including rollout sequencing and grandfathering decisions, delivered through channels managed by Community & Partnerships
  • Own the membership revenue line, including forecasting, tracking, and reporting to the COO and board
  • Work with Community & Partnerships and Programming to define and strengthen the member value that justifies the price
Members and team
  • Partner with Community & Partnerships on member feedback, contributing insight from renewal and acquisition conversations to the shared engagement picture
