Job summary

Core States Group is seeking a Director of Mechanical Engineering to lead and oversee all activities within the mechanical engineering discipline. The role drives business development strategies, forecasts project needs, and manages financial and operational performance for the mechanical engineering team.

You will mentor and lead Senior and Program Managers, ensuring strong client relationships, timely delivery, and adherence to KPI targets across multiple office locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Licenses: P.E. required.
• 15+ years of mechanical engineering project and/or program management experience within the A/E/C environment.
• Must have experience with commercial programs such as retail or restaurants.
• 8+ years of supervisory experience.
• MS Office required, familiar with AutoCAD and Revit a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Mechanical Engineering consulting process, establishing strong client relationships and delivering exceptional service.
• Participate in business development efforts, including marketing events and cross-office marketing.
• Oversee initial program investigations to assess feasibility and requirements.
• Prepare and negotiate proposals and contracts with clients and sub-consultants.
• Manage and provide leadership to Senior Program Managers and Program Managers; ensure timelines are met and communicated to clients.
• Analyze data to support decision-making and implement best practices aligned with KPIs and company goals.
• Mentor, develop, and support staff, fostering professional growth and team performance.
• Other duties as required.
