Director / VP of Mechanical Engineering

Join a high-performance space team building next-gen spacecraft. We're looking for an experienced mechanical engineering leader who thrives in a fast-paced, decision-first environment.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the mechanical engineering team while staying hands-on in spacecraft and subsystem design.
• Architect flight hardware for LEO platforms, from structure and thermal to mass budgets and layouts.
• Own CAD and configuration management (SolidWorks ecosystem preferred).
• Collaborate cross-functionally with systems, I&T, and external manufacturers.
• Spearhead environmental testing campaigns (structural + thermal).
• Engage directly with commercial and government customers on proposals and reviews.
  
  

What You’ll Bring

• 10+ years of experience in spacecraft mechanical design & analysis.
• 5+ years in a leadership role (Tech Lead, Manager, or Director).
• Proven flight heritage, hardware you designed is flying.
• Deep expertise in CAD, structural tools (ANSYS or equivalent), and industry standards (NASA GEVS, SMC-S-016).
• Bonus: experience with propulsion systems, Thermal Desktop/SINDA FLUINT, and SolidWorks PDM admin skills.
