Albertsons Companies is seeking a Director of Strategic Sourcing for Meat and Own Brands. This role leads a team of sourcing professionals with multi-million dollar spend, driving category strategies and supplier relationships to ensure supply, quality, and cost efficiency across meat categories.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in meat/poultry sourcing, strong leadership, and deep knowledge of supplier markets, USDA/FDA standards, and sustainability initiatives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience in retail meat and poultry sourcing and procurement (commodity and value added).
• 2–3 years leading strategic sourcing professionals and strong people management skills.
• Experience with sustainability and traceability initiatives in sourcing.
• Strong understanding of meat and poultry industry specs, production and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop, lead, and execute category strategies for meat, aligning with business objectives.
• Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable pricing and terms.
• Manage supplier performance metrics and lead a team of sourcing professionals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Merchandising, Replenishment, Finance) to drive cost savings and supply reliability.
• Build and maintain relationships with meat suppliers and ensure compliant supply.
