This position will play a critical role in supporting the continued growth of Clear Choice Health System, including its freestanding emergency departments, hospital operations, and future healthcare facilities.

The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader with strong financial and operational acumen, capable of developing efficient systems, implementing cost-control initiatives, and ensuring the timely availability of medical supplies, equipment, and services necessary to support safe, high-quality patient care.

As a growing healthcare organization, Clear Choice offers an opportunity for an experienced professional to build and standardize materials management processes across multiple facilities while contributing directly to operational efficiency and financial performance.

Key Responsibilities
1. Supply Chain Strategy and Leadership
  • Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive materials management and supply chain program across the organization.
  • Establish standardized purchasing, receiving, inventory, distribution, and supply utilization procedures.
  • Develop a scalable supply chain infrastructure capable of supporting additional emergency departments, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities.
  • Partner with executive leadership to identify opportunities for cost reduction, operational efficiencies, and improved resource utilization.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators related to purchasing, inventory, supply expenses, and vendor performance.

  • Identify opportunities to consolidate vendors, standardize products, and improve purchasing efficiencies.
  • Maintain strong vendor relationships while ensuring accountability for pricing, product quality, delivery performance, and contract compliance.
  • Coordinate procurement of capital equipment and medical supplies for new facility openings and expansion projects.
  • Ensure purchases comply with organizational approval limits, purchasing policies, and applicable regulations.
3. Inventory Management and Cost Control
  • Establish inventory management systems that provide accurate, timely information regarding inventory levels, utilization, costs, and replenishment needs.
  • Develop par levels and inventory controls appropriate for emergency departments, inpatient units, procedural areas, and other clinical departments.
  • Minimize excess inventory, waste, expired products, unnecessary purchases, and supply shortages.
  • Implement cycle counting, periodic physical inventories, and inventory reconciliation procedures.
  • Monitor supply expenses by facility, department, service line, and patient encounter.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising patient care, clinical effectiveness, or operational readiness.

  • Coordinate with nursing, medical staff, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and other departments to anticipate supply needs.
  • Support clinical product evaluations, equipment standardization, and new service-line development.
  • Develop contingency plans for critical supply shortages, vendor disruptions, and emergency preparedness.
  • Establish processes for appropriate product recall management, lot tracking, and expiration monitoring.
  • Coordinate supply chain readiness for new facility openings, including initial inventory, equipment procurement, and vendor implementation.
  • Support future surgical services through implant purchasing, procedure-specific supply planning, and preference-card management as applicable.
5. Financial Management and Reporting

  • Monitor and report key supply chain metrics, including:
    • Total supply expense per patient encounter.
    • Supply expense by facility and department.
    • Inventory turnover and days of inventory on hand.
    • Purchasing savings and contract compliance.
    • Expired, obsolete, and wasted inventory.
