Job Title: Market Access Director
Location: Hybrid (Tri-State Area preferred)
Description:
A leading HCP and Payer Marketing Consultancy/Agency is seeking a seasoned Market Access Director to join its growing team. This Director-level role will support the development of access and reimbursement strategies for oncology products across a range of client accounts. The role includes deep collaboration with internal stakeholders and clients to shape access-driven marketing and patient support strategies.
The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in medical and pharmacy benefits, buy and bill models, specialty pharmacy, payer pathways, and related market access domains. This position plays a key strategic role in shaping brand positioning, promotional tactics, and overall go-to-market execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead market access strategy across multiple pharmaceutical and biotech brands, focusing on oncology
- Drive brand planning activities including strategy development, tactical execution, and KPI definition
- Partner with internal teams (Account, Creative, Medical) and client stakeholders to guide strategic initiatives
- Conduct and synthesize competitive intelligence, market research, and customer insights to inform strategy
- Translate complex policy and access topics into actionable marketing recommendations
- Support cross-functional collaboration and alignment across internal and external teams
- Provide leadership and guidance during business development efforts, including RFP responses and live pitches
- Develop strategic content including payer value propositions, access decks, and related materials
- Act as a subject matter expert in managed markets, HEOR, RWE, pricing, reimbursement, and HUB services
- Lead internal education and ensure best-in-class quality for promotional materials in compliance with FDA standards
The ideal candidate MUST have experience in:
- 6+ years in pharmaceutical marketing or market access, either agency-side or in-house
- Deep knowledge of U.S. payer environment, reimbursement models, and patient access strategy
- Experience leading strategy for oncology products and navigating access barriers
- Strong capabilities in client engagement, team collaboration, and thought leadership
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to simplify complex access data for diverse audiences
- Comfort with qualitative/quantitative research and syndicated data to drive insights
- Background in brand-building at multiple life cycle stages (pre-launch to LOE)
- Bachelor's degree in related field (PharmD, MPH, MBA, or PhD preferred)
