Job summary

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Silicon Valley / Monterey Bay Chapter in San Jose seeks a Director of Donor Development to lead major gifts fundraising and expand the donor pipeline through strategic plans in partnership with the Chapter ED and Board.

The role requires 7–10 years in major gifts fundraising leadership, supervisory experience, proven success in closing $100,000+ gifts, and willingness to travel regionally (and to Rye Brook, NY occasionally).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• 7–10 years of major gifts fundraising leadership experience within a charitable organization.
• 3 years of supervisory experience.
• Experience personally soliciting $100,000+ gifts.
• Proactive development leadership with proven track record of increasing philanthropic revenue.
• Experience developing and implementing broad-based fundraising programs.
• Knowledge of best practices in development.

Responsibilities

• Develops and executes annual and multi-year development plans for the SVMB Chapter’s Donor Development fundraising in collaboration with ED and National Director of Philanthropy.
• Achieves or exceeds revenue targets and manages expenses.
• Leads major gifts growth and partners with Chapter leadership and staff.
• Serves as liaison for individuals and foundations for solicitation and stewardship.
• Maintains own portfolio of donors and prospects; makes solicitations over $25,000.
• Collaborates with national staff to maximize fundraising opportunities.
• Identifies and qualifies new prospects through outreach and volunteer engagement.
