Job summary

Brazosport College is seeking a collaborative Director of Library Services in Lake Jackson, TX, to lead Library Operations and align services with the college's instructional programs and student success priorities.

The role reports to the Vice President of Academic Affairs and oversees staff, budgets, partnerships, and technology literacy initiatives to support teaching, learning, and research across the campus.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Library Science (MLIS) from an ALA-accredited institution or equivalent.
• Three years of supervisory experience.
• Experience developing information literacy content and programming.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for Library Services, aligning acquisitions, resources, and services with the College's vision.
• Lead and support library staff by assigning and monitoring work, conducting performance evaluations, providing training and guidance.
• Develops and justify budget requests; determine staffing, equipment, and resource needs; reallocate resources as priorities change.
• Interprets library statistics to guide planning and service improvement; prepare reports for accreditation agencies.
• Leads the development and support of technology literacy and AI skills for teaching, learning, and research.
• Builds collaborative relationships across campus and communicates library services to faculty and students.
