Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government seeks a Director of HKS Library Services to lead the ongoing development of library services and collections for world-class research and teaching in public policy and government.

Qualifications

• ALA-accredited MLS degree or equivalent professional experience.
• At least 8 years of experience in a library management role.
• Demonstrated success in leading a highly matrixed, decentralized environment.
• Experience leading research, teaching libraries and data services.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership in evolving library services, collections, and facilities that advance research, teaching and learning in public policy and government.
• Oversee staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation; promote collaboration and excellence in execution.
• Collaborate with Harvard Library and HKS community to align services with evolving needs.
• Lead cross-institutional collaboration and innovation in data services, digital scholarship, and open science.
• Support communication and engagement with faculty, students, and staff across the university.
