Job summary

American Farm Bureau Federation seeks an internal consultant and trainer to deliver leadership development and organization development programs for Farm Bureau leadership and staff.

The role will oversee online learning programs, coordinate conferences, and collaborate with state and national staff to advance organizational development initiatives, with telework 2 days per week in Washington, DC area.

Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience in a professional environment, including 3 years’ experience in training, leadership development or a relevant field.
• Experience working with volunteers, preferably in agriculture.
• Experience with word processing and preparing visual aids in Microsoft Office.
• Strong problem-solving ability.
• Strong time management and organizational skills during travel.

Responsibilities

• Present training programs for Farm Bureau volunteer leaders and employees, covering topics from board roles to teambuilding and change management.
• Provide staff leadership for online learning programs through Farm Bureau University.
• Lead programs managed by the leadership development team, such as New Employee Orientation and Grassroots Engagement Training.
• Collaborate with AFBF and state staff to create development resources for the organization.
• Consult with Farm Bureau organizations on non-profit standards and association management trends.
• Assist state Farm Bureaus in creating organization development strategies, including strategic plans and board training.
• Plan and implement staff and volunteer conferences.
• Promote learning resources to decision-makers and recommend leadership resources.
• Provide staff support at AFBF events such as the annual convention and related programs.
