Job summary

Hospital for Special Surgery is seeking a Leadership Development Director to drive the leadership strategy, curriculum, and portfolio across the development ladder in a hybrid New York, NY setting. You will craft programs, define readiness metrics, and oversee AI-enabled learning initiatives that align with organizational goals.

You will partner with Talent Management, IT, and external partners to ensure rigorous assessment, scalable curricula, and measurable business impact.

Responsibilities

Define and own the HSS Way of Leading and the leadership curriculum across the development ladder.
Manage the leadership portfolio as products: roadmaps, funding trade-offs, scale-or-retire decisions.
Shape the path toward a Healthcare Leadership Academy that integrates existing programs.
Own leadership readiness: define leadership skills and readiness measures with Talent Management.
Set AI in leadership learning: personalization, AI-supported coaching and AI-assisted content with guardrails.
Own the leadership assessment suite and the debrief model that turns results into development plans.
Facilitate leadership programs and prepare internal and per diem facilitators to operate to HSS standards.
Agree business measures with executive sponsors before each program is built, and report on them twice a year.
Partner with the Educational Institute to align content and governance, and manage external vendors.
