Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and execute all junior golf camps across sites.
  • Build and maintain annual and seasonal camp schedules.
  • Coordinate daily operations: staffing, camper groups, activities, equipment, and facilities.
  • Establish standard operating procedures so camps run consistently across locations.
  • Monitor capacity, enrollment, staffing needs, and program performance.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for camp staff, parents, participants, and facility partners.
  • Develop and maintain curriculum for beginner through advanced junior golfers.
  • Deliver structured instruction across putting, chipping, pitching, full swing, rules, etiquette, and on-course play.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, train, schedule, and supervise camp coaches and support staff.
  • Ensure camper experiences are welcoming, safe, inclusive, and positive.
  • Own parent communication and follow-up.
  • Support promotions, early registration, and enrollment growth.

Employment Type: Full-Time, Year-Round • Exempt (Salaried)

Location: Union City - Bay Area, CA • multiple camp sites; regular local travel between locations required

Compensation: $70,000 to $90,000 per year, depending on experience

Position Summary

The Director of Golf Camps leads the development, management, and growth of our junior golf camp programs across all sites. The role owns the full camper experience: curriculum and instruction, staffing, safety, scheduling, registration, marketing support, customer service and program growth. The ideal candidate is an experienced golf professional or youth-program leader who is passionate about developing junior golfers and building a safe, positive, and consistently high-quality camp environment that reflects our mission and standards.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Salary: $70,000 to $90,000 per year depending on experience.
Schedule

This is a year-round position with significant peaks during summer and school-break camp seasons. Expect extended hours, weekends, and holidays during peak periods, with a lighter, planning-focused schedule off-season. Specific hours vary depending on camp programming and operational needs.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

Work is primarily outdoors at golf facilities and may involve standing and walking for extended periods, demonstrating golf skills, and lifting or moving equipment up to [25] lbs. Experience Required
Required Qualifications
  • 3+ years leading golf camps, youth sports programs, or junior golf instruction.
  • Strong knowledge of golf fundamentals and junior player development.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, schedule, and manage a team of coaches and seasonal staff.
  • Excellent organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced outdoor environment and managing multiple sites and priorities.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check (California Penal Code §11105.3) as a condition of employment.
  • Completion of California mandated-reporter training within 30 days of hire (organization-provided).
  • Current CPR / First Aid certification, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel between camp sites.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PGA, LPGA, US Kids Golf, TPI, or comparable golf / youth-development certification.
  • Experience managing junior golf camps or academies and developing youth curriculum.
  • Experience recruiting and managing seasonal staff.
  • Experience with online registration / scheduling platforms and with marketing, social media, and email communication.
  • Familiarity with competitive junior golf and tournament pathways.

  • Deliver structured instruction across putting, chipping, pitching, full swing, rules, etiquette, course management, and on‑course play.
  • Use games, challenges, and competitions to maintain a learning environment.
  • Set and apply placement standards for advanced and competitive campers.
  • Continuously improve curriculum based on participant feedback and results.
Staff Recruitment & Leadership
  • Recruit, interview, hire, train, schedule, and supervise camp coaches and support staff.
  • Set clear expectations for coaching, professionalism, communication, safety, and camper supervision.
  • Run staff orientation and pre‑camp training, including required youth‑safety training (see Safety below).
  • Assign coaches to appropriate age and skill groups.
  • Provide ongoing feedback and performance evaluations and build a strong team culture.
Camper Experience & Parent Communication
  • Ensure every camper has a welcoming, safe, inclusive, and positive experience.
  • Own parent communication: pre‑camp information, check‑in / check‑out, attendance, and follow‑up.
  • Respond professionally to parent questions, concerns, and feedback.
  • Monitor engagement and adjust programming to improve the experience.
Marketing, Registration & Enrollment
  • Partner on marketing to grow awareness and enrollment.
  • Keep camp information accurate across the website, registration platform, and promotional channels.
  • Support promotions, early registration, and referral initiatives.
  • Track enrollment trends and recommend strategies for growth.
Program Development & Growth
  • Identify opportunities to expand and improve camp offerings, including specialty camps, advanced programs, and off‑season / school‑break camps.
  • Build partnerships with schools, community organizations, and facility partners where appropriate.
  • Track performance, feedback, enrollment, and financial results, and recommend improvements to pricing, scheduling, staffing, and curriculum.
Safety, Risk Management & Youth Protection
  • Maintain a strong culture of safety across all activities and sites.
  • Maintain appropriate camper‑to‑staff ratios and supervision standards.
  • Monitor weather, course, and facility conditions, and follow established emergency and incident‑reporting procedures.
  • Ensure the program meets California youth‑safety requirements, including background‑check clearance and mandated‑reporter training for all camp staff (California AB 506), and maintain the related child‑abuse prevention policies.
