Job summary

GMA Construction Group in Chicago seeks a Director of IT to lead deployment, security, and support of hardware, field connectivity, and building software such as Procore, BIM, and Office 365. You will bridge field crews and corporate operations to keep projects running smoothly using modern technology.

You will manage IT operations, vendor relationships, cybersecurity, and the IT helpdesk, guiding digital strategy across our construction projects and site teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT or related field.
• 5+ years of IT experience, with 2–3+ years in construction/industrial sectors.
• Strong cloud, network, and cybersecurity background.
• Familiarity with Procore, Bluebeam, or AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Oversee deployment, security, and support of hardware and field connectivity solutions.
• Maintain construction management software for office and field staff.
• Set up reliable remote connectivity and hardware for sites.
• Negotiate contracts with SaaS providers and hardware vendors.
• Safeguard networks, data, and client communications from threats.
• Lead IT helpdesk for project teams and field laborers.
• Evaluate new construction tech to improve field productivity.
• Coordinate onboarding and offboarding of employees’ tech access.
