Job summary

Vertex Education is seeking a Director of IT, Central Services to lead the corporate technology experience for Vertex employees. You will own Central Services IT with a hands-on, high-service operating model, ensuring reliable tools, secure access, fast support, and clear communication.

Reporting to the CIO, you will manage a lean team and oversee Microsoft environments, asset licenses, vendor relations, and enterprise applications like Microsoft 365, Asana, and HubSpot.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive IT experience including operations, security, and vendor management.
• Hands-on foundation across Microsoft 365, identity management, endpoints, networking, backups, and ITSM.
• Proven ability to lead a small IT team while staying close to day-to-day work and employee needs.
• Strong service orientation with defined SLAs and root-cause problem solving.
• Experience budgeting, asset and license management, renewals, and procurement planning.
• Cybersecurity operations including MFA, endpoint protection, audits, and incident response.
• Experience in post-acquisition IT integration and multi-entity environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead corporate IT operations and help desk, defining service standards, escalation paths, and communications.
• Manage employee devices, onboarding/offboarding, access changes, and core system support.
• Maintain documentation, SOPs, knowledge base, and repeatable support practices.
• Oversee budget forecasting, vendor spend, hardware purchases, licenses, and improvements.
• Plan and execute infrastructure enhancements with security, reliability, and user experience in mind.
• Own identity, provisioning, licensing, and enterprise application administration (M365, Asana, HubSpot).
• Lead post-acquisition IT planning and integration, aligning with Vertex standards.
