Job summary

RJI Search is seeking a technology leader to bridge business needs with well‑designed software and systems. You will guide a Mexico‑based development team, partner with the CEO and executives, and oversee the full technology picture including business systems, IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and compliance.

You won't code, but you will define requirements, tradeoffs, and priorities to drive delivery. Your impact includes turning challenges into clear technical designs, leading end‑to‑end

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading people and managing multiple technology projects.
• Experience partnering with software development teams across full lifecycle.
• Familiarity with application architecture, databases, APIs, integrations, cloud applications, and source control.
• Exposure to ERP systems, custom software, or other business application platforms.
• Solid grasp of networking, servers, Microsoft 365, endpoint management, firewalls, IAM, backups, and disaster recovery.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and risk management.
• ISO 27001 or similar security framework experience, with audit readiness.
• Ability to prioritize costs, risks, and options to executives.
• Experience building or growing the technology function at a small or mid-sized company.

Responsibilities

• Translate business challenges into clear technical requirements, system designs, and development priorities.
• Lead projects end to end, from requirements and design through testing, deployment, documentation, and ongoing support.
• Build and own the technology roadmap, budget, and KPIs, and share progress, risks, and recommendations with executive leadership.
• Make sure the infrastructure is secure, reliable, and scalable across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Oversee user provisioning, access controls, software licensing, hardware lifecycle, and employee technical support.
• Hold the MSP, consultants, and technology vendors accountable for service, security, and results.
• Partner with the Compliance Officer on ISO 27001, audits, business continuity, and disaster recovery.
• Bring fresh ideas for automation, AI tools, integrations, and process improvement.
• Step in hands‑on to troubleshoot whenever the situation calls for it.

Salary: to $150,000 base + discretionary bonus (5-15%)

You'll guide a Mexico-based software development team, partner closely with the CEO and department leaders, and oversee the full technology picture, including business systems, IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and compliance. You don't need to write code yourself. You do need to understand how software and systems are designed well enough to define requirements, weigh tradeoffs, and ask the right questions before resources are committed.

Your impact:

Your background:

• Familiarity with application architecture, databases, APIs, integrations, cloud applications, and source control

• A solid grasp of networking, servers, Microsoft 365, endpoint management, firewalls, identity and access management, backups, and disaster recovery


• Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and risk management


• ISO 27001 or similar security framework experience, with a strong habit of documentation and audit readiness


• The business judgment to prioritize wisely and the confidence to present costs, risks, and options to executives


• Experience building or growing the technology function at a small or mid‑sized company
