Job summary

Appen Limited seeks a Director of IT & Automation to lead the IT function for a modern, AI-native company. The role blends strategic vision with hands-on execution, shaping risk, service and investment priorities at the senior level.

You will build and lead a high-performing team across IT support, enterprise tech and automation, driving AI-powered improvements and a culture of ownership.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in IT with significant leadership experience.
• Proven IT leadership including support and service delivery.
• Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft 365 and enterprise IT admin.
• Experience with SOC 2, ISO 27001 and IT security governance.
• Commercial acumen in vendor management and tech spend.

Responsibilities

• Set IT roadmap across enterprise technology, support, security and automation.
• Lead IT support, endpoint management and major incident response.
• Own health, configuration and integration of core enterprise tech.
• Provide technical leadership across SaaS, cloud infra and integrations.
• Establish governance for AI use balancing adoption with security and compliance.
• Manage technology vendors, licensing, renewals and cost optimisation.
• Build a high-performing IT team and foster problem-solving culture.
