NNRMLS is seeking an IT leader who operates at executive level, reporting to the CEO, and chairs technology discussions with the board and industry partners. You’ll own and drive technology strategy from concept through execution, ensuring delivery and accountability in a high-visibility role.
You will influence technology direction, oversee security and integrations, and push back when vendors miss commitments, making clear, business-focused recommendations to leadership.
This role is for a specific kind of IT leader. Not the person who waits for direction. Not the one who’s great in the weeds but disappears in the boardroom. NNRMLS needs someone who walks into a room with executive leadership, vendors, or board members and commands it. If that’s you, keep reading.
Northern Nevada Regional MLS is a small, highly collaborative organization that serves real estate professionals across the region. The technology infrastructure here has a direct impact on how members do their jobs every single day. That means what you build, fix, and drive forward matters, and people notice. You’ll sit on the executive leadership team, report directly to the CEO, and operate as a peer alongside three other directors. There’s no large team to manage. You own the work, and you own the results.
Most IT director roles at this level mean managing a team, running up the chain, and waiting on approvals. This one is different. You’ll work directly alongside the CEO, attend technology advisory and board meetings, represent the organization in front of industry partners, and drive technology strategy from concept through execution. When something needs to happen, you make it happen. When a vendor isn’t delivering, you push back. When leadership needs a clear recommendation, you bring one. This is a high-visibility, high-trust role. The person who thrives here is someone who’s done executive-level work before and is ready to own it fully.
The single most important thing: you communicate well, you lead with confidence, and you come in with ideas. Beyond that, strong candidates will bring:
MLS, real estate technology, or data industry experience; Flexmls; IDX/VOW or RESO standards familiarity; Zoho One; or relevant certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA, CMLX). These aren’t dealbreakers. The right person can learn the industry. What can’t be trained is leadership presence.
You’ll spend the first 90 days learning the organization, the industry, and the systems. You’ll sit in on board meetings and technology advisory meetings alongside the CEO, get up to speed on vendors and operations, and start building your own perspective on what needs attention. The expectation is that you come in curious, organized, and ready to demonstrate your approach to the work early.
