Job summary

The Rhode Island Department of Education seeks a Director, Office of Instruction, Assessment and Curriculum to lead the design and implementation of PK-12 assessment systems, reporting of results, and policy development that supports high-quality teaching and learning.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher preferred in Education.
• Five years of management or district‑level experience in assessment, instruction and curriculum policy development.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and implementation of statewide assessments.
• Publish annual assessment results.
• Support districts to develop standards-based curricula and instruction practices.
• Coordinate professional development for educators.
