Job summary

Trinseo LLC is seeking a visionary R&D Director, Innovation Pipeline & Growth Platforms to lead the development of our engineered materials innovation pipeline. You will identify emerging technologies, evaluate market opportunities, and partner with business units and global centers to mature concepts into growth platforms.

In this hybrid Exton, PA role, you will foster exploration, run early-stage assessments, and establish disciplined processes to advance ideas into our product development

Qualifications

• Ph.D. preferred in Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 20+ years of proven industrial R&D experience translating early-stage ideas into viable products, businesses, platforms, or growth initiatives.
• Experience engaging across business units, global teams, and external ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Lead identification and maturation of future growth platforms through external and internal collaboration.
• Build external networks with universities, startups, providers, customers, and ecosystems to source innovations.
• Guide early-stage opportunity assessment and down-select viable concepts into a pipeline.
• Establish governance and alignment for innovation tracking and portfolio reviews.
