Job summary

Ooma is seeking a Director, Infrastructure Engineering to lead the infrastructure that underpins customer services—from data centers and public cloud to Kubernetes clusters and networking. You will drive reliability, cost efficiency, and architectural strategy while growing a high-performing team.

The role demands strategic leadership, deep technical credibility, and ability to present for executive audiences.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or operations.
• 5+ years of experience leading teams; capable of guiding through team leads or managers.
• Deep fluency across Linux, Kubernetes, open-source tooling, cloud infra, data centers, networking, storage, observability, and security.

Responsibilities

• Build and run a high-performing distributed infrastructure organization (~12 engineers).
• Manage budgets, vendor relationships, and cost optimization while maintaining reliability.
• Set technical direction across data centers, cloud environments, Linux, Kubernetes, networking, storage, and security.
• Collaborate with Product/Development to define infrastructure solutions with SLAs, perf targets, and capacity planning.
• Develop leadership depth, evolving team structure toward functional domains as the org matures.
• Partner with Security and leadership to define and enforce security policies across environments.
