Job summary

Ooma is seeking a Director of Infrastructure Engineering to lead an org of about 12 engineers responsible for data centers, public cloud, Linux servers, Kubernetes clusters, networking, storage, observability, and security.

You will own budgets, drive cost optimization, build leadership benches, and partner with security and product teams to align infrastructure with business goals. Flexible work options include remote in the US, hybrid, or onsite in Sunnyvale, CA.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering or operations.
• 5+ years leading teams, through managers or team leads.
• Deep fluency across Linux, Kubernetes, and open‑source tooling; cloud infrastructure and environments.
• Experience with data center operations, networking, storage, observability, and network security.

Responsibilities

• Build and run a high-performing distributed infrastructure org of ~12 engineers, driving reliability and accountability.
• Manage budgets, own vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and identify cost-reduction opportunities.
• Set technical direction across data centers, cloud, Linux, Kubernetes, networking, storage, observability, and security.
• Collaborate with Product and Development to define infrastructure for upcoming products including SLAs and scalability.
• Develop team leads and evolve the org structure toward functional domains as it matures.
• Define security policies with Security and leadership and lead implementation across environments.
