Job summary

RSP Group, Inc. is seeking a Head of Infrastructure & IT Operations to shape the strategy, modernization and delivery of technology services for a large enterprise.

The role spans infrastructure, cloud platforms, networking, ITSM, workplace tech and asset management, with responsibility for performance, resilience and business value. You will lead high-performing teams, drive automation and collaborate with Security to strengthen controls while managing budgets and supplier relationships.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive IT experience with at least seven years in Infra & Ops leadership.
• Proven ability to translate technology strategy into measurable business value.
• Broad enterprise exposure across infrastructure, cloud, networking, ITSM and end-user tech.
• Strong executive communication skills linking technology to business priorities.
• Collaborative leader with track record of attracting and developing talent.
• Relevant postgraduate qualification is advantageous.

We are partnered with an engineering firm with revenues in excess of $20bn to appoint a Head of Infrastructure & IT Operations.

This is an opportunity to shape the strategy, modernization and delivery of technology services across a large enterprise. The role spans infrastructure, cloud platforms, networking, IT service management, field IT operations, application support, asset management and workplace technologies.

As a member of the Technology & Innovation Leadership Team, you will build high-performing teams, strengthen operational resilience and ensure technology investment delivers measurable business value.

The role

• Define and deliver an Infrastructure & Operations strategy aligned with business growth, employee needs and enterprise risk priorities.
• Lead reliable, scalable and secure technology services, taking accountability for availability, performance and continuous improvement.
• Drive infrastructure modernization and hybrid and multi-cloud strategy, with a strong focus on Azure.
• Mature IT service management across incident, problem, request, change and knowledge management.
• Improve the employee technology experience through effective workplace technologies, endpoint management, field support and asset lifecycle management.
• Apply automation, AI and AIOps to improve service quality, increase efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Partner with Information Security to strengthen infrastructure security, compliance, business continuity and disaster recovery.
• Own budgets, forecasting, investment prioritization and supplier performance.
• Build and develop high-performing teams, creating a culture of collaboration, accountability and customer focus.
• Give senior stakeholders clear visibility into service performance, risks, investment priorities and business outcomes.

Your background

• 15+ years of progressive IT experience, including at least seven years leading Infrastructure & Operations teams.
• A track record of delivering technology strategy, infrastructure modernization and operational improvement.
• Broad experience across enterprise infrastructure, cloud, networking, IT service management and end-user technology.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365, with exposure to platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and ServiceNow.
• Experience managing substantial budgets, strategic suppliers and complex technology investments.
• Strong executive communication skills and the ability to connect technology decisions to business priorities.
• A collaborative leadership style and proven ability to attract, develop and retain talent.
• A relevant degree or equivalent practical experience.

Location:

My client has offices throughout the US and offers a hybrid working schedule.

Construction industry experience, a relevant postgraduate qualification and professional certifications in cloud, infrastructure or IT service management would be advantageous.
