Salary Range: $133,000 to $159,000 per annum
Summary
The Director of IT will be responsible for overseeing BetterHealth’s internal IT systems, infrastructure, and support services. This role involves strategic planning, operational leadership, and people management, ensuring technology enables all departments to operate efficiently and securely. The ideal candidate will bring a strong mix of technical acumen, leadership experience, and a service-oriented mindset.
Essential Functions
- IT Infrastructure Management
- Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of secure and scalable IT infrastructure (networks, servers, cloud environments, etc.).
- Ensure high availability, performance, and security across all systems.
- Manage vendor relationships and licensing agreements related to infrastructure, ensuring smooth operations, security compliance, and cost efficiency.
- Oversee provisioning and lifecycle management of hardware, software, and user access.
- End User Support & Systems Optimization
- Ensure timely and effective support for both internal and external users.
- Implement systems and tools that enhance employee productivity and security.
- Coordinate the implementation of system enhancements, product maintenance and support, upgrades, updates, and patches to assure secure and optimal system performance, data integrity, and reliability.
- Technology Strategy & Systems Implementation
- Collaborate with senior leadership to align IT strategy with organizational goals.
- Evaluate, select, and implement internal tools and systems (e.g., communication, collaboration, ticketing systems, etc.).
- Identify and drive opportunities for automation and process improvement.
- Team Leadership & People Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop the information technology staff, including infrastructure team, support staff, and systems administrators.
- Develop team structure, performance goals, and professional development paths.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and service excellence.
- Security & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to cybersecurity best practices, data protection policies, and industry compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA and PCI).
- Recommend, draft, and update internal IT standard operating procedures.
- Partner with federation and organization Security and Compliance teams on audits and incident response plans.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position manages the Infrastructure Manager and Service Desk Analyst roles and fulfills supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 8+ years of progressive experience in IT, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership or director level role.

- Proven experience managing enterprise IT infrastructure and internal support operations.
- Strong leadership and people management skills; experience building and mentoring high performing teams.
- Solid understanding of ITIL practices, cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure), network and systems administration, cybersecurity, and systems integration.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem solving abilities.
