Job summary

The University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) seeks a Director of Information Security to develop and lead a strategic enterprise cyber security and IT risk management program. You will provide vision to align with business goals, govern security across the organization, and ensure system and data integrity.

As a senior leader, you will guide incident response, audits, vendor risk, and security engineering, while mentoring a growing security team.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of information security experience.
• 4+ years of management or leadership in information security or network administration.
• Experience with higher education is preferred.
• CISSP/CISM or equivalent certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an organization-wide information security program.
• Lead security assessments, testing, and secure software development.
• Oversee incident response planning and management.
• Drive security governance, audits, and regulatory compliance.
• Mentor and build a security team.
