Job summary

NYSNA seeks an experienced Human Resources Director to lead the HR function and develop strategies that support NYSNA’s priorities and values.

Reporting to the Chief of Staff, this senior leader will oversee employee and labor relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, hiring and compliance, and professional development while cultivating a positive, high‑performing culture in New York, NY.

Qualifications

• At least ten years of HR experience with a minimum of five years in a leadership role.
• Experience managing HR functions in political, labor, or advocacy organizations.
• Experience negotiating and administering collective bargaining agreements.

Responsibilities

• Lead HR programs and services aligning with organizational priorities.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, compensation, benefits, policy compliance.
• Manage employee and labor relations and ensure legal compliance.
• Partner with staff unions to negotiate and administer collective bargaining agreements.
