This leader will own talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, compensation and benefits, training and culture — building an HR function that supports rapid growth, new hotel openings and acquisitions. Hospitality HR experience is required. This role is ideal for a hands-on, strategic HR leader who wants to shape the culture of a growing hospitality company.

Key Responsibilities
HR Strategy & Leadership
  • Build and lead the HR function for the corporate office and company-managed hotels
  • Partner with the Managing Partners, COO and department heads on org design, headcount planning and workforce strategy
  • Develop HR policies, programs and processes that scale with portfolio growth
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to executives and general managers on all people matters
Talent Acquisition
  • Lead recruiting for corporate, regional and hotel leadership roles, including general managers and executive committee members
  • Build hiring pipelines and employer brand across hospitality job markets nationwide
  • Manage search firms, job boards and applicant tracking systems
  • Own staffing plans for new hotel openings, acquisitions and takeovers
Employee Relations & Compliance
  • Handle employee relations, investigations and corrective action with fairness and consistency
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws across multiple states, including California
  • Oversee FLSA wage-and-hour, leave (FMLA / ADA), I-9 / E-Verify and required workplace postings
  • Partner with the VP of Legal on claims, agency charges and policy updates; maintain the employee handbook
Compensation, Benefits & Payroll
  • Design pay structures and incentive plans that are competitive and fair
  • Manage benefits programs, open enrollment and broker / carrier relationships
  • Oversee payroll and HRIS accuracy (e.g., ADP) in partnership with Finance
  • Benchmark compensation against the hospitality market
Learning, Development & Performance
  • Build leadership development and succession plans for general managers and department heads
  • Launch onboarding, training and required compliance programs (harassment prevention, safety, human-trafficking awareness)
  • Run the performance review process and goal-setting cycle
  • Create career paths that grow talent from hourly roles into management
Culture, Engagement & Retention
  • Lead engagement surveys, recognition programs and retention initiatives
  • Track turnover, time-to-fill and other people metrics; report to leadership
  • Embed company values — Integrity, Adaptability, Loyalty and Excellence — across the organization
  • Support HR integration during hotel acquisitions, dispositions and management transitions
What Success Looks Like
  • Key leadership roles, including general managers, filled quickly with strong hires
  • Lower hourly and management turnover across hotels
  • Zero compliance gaps in wage-and-hour, I-9 and required training
  • Succession plans in place for every general manager and key corporate role
  • Smooth HR integration for every new hotel opening and acquisition
  • Clear people metrics reported to leadership every month
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Hospitality or a related field
  • 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including 5+ years in an HR leadership role
  • Hospitality HR experience required — multi-property hotel owner, operator or management company
  • Experience supporting both corporate and hotel-level teams across multiple states
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment law, including California Hands-on experience with HRIS, payroll and applicant tracking systems (e.g., ADP)
  • Proven employee relations and investigations experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP, SPHR or PHR certification
  • Experience with Marriott and/or Hilton branded hotels, including luxury / lifestyle and full-service
  • Hotel opening and acquisition-integration experience
